Alpha and miscelaneous matters
Alas, the story I sent to Alpha this year had absolutly no plot and, I can only assume by dint of artistic value alone, I clawed my way up to tenth place on a waiting list of ten. I really should put a little more thought into that kind of thing... next year. I have come up with a possible submission - it has both plot and metaphore. "Pandora's Music Box" was just too awsome a phrase to pass up writing on.
I shall endevor to improve, polish, edit, and in general strive for excellence in writing so, come next year, I may once again enjoy so marvelous an experience as the Alpha writers workshop.

Yes, next year, already being obsessed over in several different ways, will certainly be witness to less overconfidence. Perhaps just a smidgeon of hope :).
As for "Pandora's Music Box", the short story is already written, and needs only hours and hours of worrying over and eventual polishing, along with the reviews of friends, kin, family, kith, and all manner of random peoples picked off the streets to assure me that, no, I am not yet writing kitch, for me to be confident enough to think about considering the vague possibility of cogitating on contemplations that may or may not involve, but are certainly related to, something propinquitous to or indistinguishable from sending it in as an aplication to Alpha come next year. (*evil laugh* fear my marked lack of periods; lament at my loquacity, grovel in the face of my garulousness, kowtow to my cant, and prostrate yourself before prolix and prolonged passages of prosaic prose and patterned parlance... with aliteration) You should read it.
